This is such a fun idea! I was inspired by a preschool teacher at Play to Learn Preschool blog! She typically does this ice cream shop with Play-Doh, but she had a student with allergies. So she used Pom Pom balls instead! Genius!! I added some Amazon affiliate links highlighted in the text for your convenience.
I bought some Pom Pom balls at Hobby Lobby, this adorable ice cream bowl and spoon set she suggested (I linked a similar set because ours was sold out), some ice cream scoopers I found at Hobby Lobby years ago, our cash register is from Lakeshore Learning or here is a similar cash register, play money, a dollar store kid’s apron, and my son’s favorite.. this ADORABLE ice cream pretend play sprinkles, syrup, and other fun ice cream favorites! If you purchase anything.. this set is a must have!
This is something I bring out and my five-year-old still loves it! I put it all together when he was three, and it was an instant hit! We even take it to his grandparent’s house and his older cousins join in the fun! It doesn’t have to be overwhelming. You can grab a variety pack of small pom pom balls, your ice cream scooper and call it dipping dots!
I know your kids will love it as much as we do!
