As you know, Easter baskets and stocking stuffers give me anxiety. I like to pick meaningful items that aren’t junk. The picture below is my twin’s basket from last year. They were 9 months old. I made a list of items I know you will love and things my twins will be getting this Easter! You will see some of these items are bigger. I know some parents choose to do a bigger item off to the side or instead of a basket. I gave you some options either way!
Restaurant Wheel-This is our second one. The twins fought over the one we already owned. Over 2,700 people sing its praises. We just suction it to the restaurant table and let it mesmerize my kids. Honestly, it probably puts them in a legit trance, but I get time to talk to adults!
Our favorite bath toys! We have the seaplane, submarine, and I want to add the first one, the ferry boat. I am terrified of mold on/in bath toys. These are the perfect solution! I put them in the dishwasher and they are good as new! The bath drops added so much excitement to our bath. My son was three and was fighting baths. These were fun to experiment with color mixing and it added engagement to his bath.
If we are being honest, I bought this solely on looks! The bottom of each pail has a different way for water to “pour” out. It is super cute and we love using it in the bath and in our sensory bins.
These bath blocks are so much fun!! My twins are 20 months and my 4-year-old all play with these during their bath.
This is an adorable mini spinner! I also included the giant one. The giant ones are so calming to watch drop and they fly off the shelf at the toy stores!
This is a fidget toy for babies! It has amazing ratings and is perfect for car rides and travel!
The hedgehog is great for babies 12 months and up. My twin’s really got into it at 14 months. The fine motor practice is perfect for little fingers! There is a reason it was nominated for toy of the year! The box it comes in is probably too big for an Easter basket. If you take it out of the box, it would make a perfect addition! This piggy bank, another fine motor favorite, has a special place in my heart. One of my twins really struggled with fine motor and this toy helped him so much. I still remember the proud look on his face when he was able to put the coin in by himself. I adore that toy!
We are lucky to have an IKEA close to us. Their plates, bowls, and cups are the best! These long sleeve bibs have saved my life!! A mom friend had these bibs and I fell in love! I love the plates and utensils because of their bright colors, quality, and price! If you don’t live near one, have no fear, Amazon to the rescue! I do not own these second set of plates, but these also have amazing reviews!
Bubbles- My kids looooove bubbles! It was a word they said early on. We talk about bubbles in the bath and when we blow bubbles outside. Seriously, buy way more than what you need. My oldest spilled bubbles all.the.time. Have back up!
First Crayons and Paint- These are perfect for the Easter theme! I do have to say that my twins are loving these finger crayons too! Thank goodness these finger crayons are EDIBLE! Obviously, you don’t want them to eat it, but part of learning for babies and toddlers is the whole sensory experience. They are going to put everything in their mouth. These are one less thing I have to worry about them using. I added in Play-Doh. My twins like squeezing it and putting the letter stamps we have in these. It is definitely an item they will try and eat. So I am right there making sure they don’t eat it.
Toothbrush and toothpaste- After they eat those crayons, give them this toddler safe toothbrush. It’s a must! Jump on the wagon with 7,000 other happy customers!
Carrot teether- I love themes! We do not own this, but it has good reviews!
Easter theme- This would be great for babies and younger kids. It has 2,000 reviews from people that love it. The teacher mom in me loves how the eggs work on bilateral coordination (using two hands).
My twins are 18 months old and obsessed with Duplos. They watch their older brother play with Legos and they want to be just like him. My oldest often joins in when we play with Duplos. My twins feel special when their big brother comes over to play with their toy! I love the fine motor skills they work on while playing with these. I am not sure how big this box is and how big your basket is, but these building bricks are a preschool teacher’s dream! Your child is working on fine motor skills that get them ready to write! It is worth every penny! I also added in a second set of bigger blocks that are perfect for kids under one and up!
Pool / Beach Ready-The ratings on all of these products speak for themselves! The last item (water wheel) draws a crowd of kids at the pool! My oldest was three and saw this water wheel. It was love at first sight! It is perfect for the beach too!
Glam Squad- If you don’t have these brushes you are missing out! My nieces use them and they are so much gentler for hair when you brush out knots. I am 30-ish and love mine!
Add in your baby’s favorite pouches, puffs, and treats!
Backyard Besties- This lawnmower is the one we own. It comes in a red and blue color. If I am being honest, we actually have two kid’s lawn mowers. This mower is WAYYYY better than the Little Tikes one. The little Tikes one is so hard to push and rarely gets used! The bubbles are my son’s favorite part! My son is four and still mows while my husband mows. I am smiling now just thinking about the memories with it! The baby swing is a cute alternative to a basket. I know what you are thinking. The picnic table and water table may not fit in a basket! It is a really great price. It would be perfect to do instead of a basket! The bowling set and ball would be great to put off to the side or in a bigger, non-traditional basket idea like the ones I have at the bottom of the post!
Books- I just bought the Botany book for babies! This is a super simple way to explain plants to kids. So informative, yet simple to understand.
Basket alternatives- Put the goodies into a water table, pool, umbrella turned upside down, book bag, or stuff it into some rain boots for a fun twist!
