Imaginative play is so important and works on so many skills. I love when kids realize they can be anything they want to be! They work on problem solving and sharpen their creativity all through play!
You can buy the items and have it ready to go, or choose to make your own! Don’t have binoculars? Get two empty toilet paper rolls and tape them together. Need a camp fire? Use brown construction paper and roll it into a log (like the birthday crown you get in kindergarten). Tape some flames coming out of it. Need smores? Use real ingredients or cut them out of construction paper. A good old fashioned fort can be fun as a makeshift tent too!
Here is the camping book we own!
Our campfire and smores are from the Target bins last year. Honestly, the camp fire was easily pulled apart by my sweet two year old twins. 🙂 I am linking some similar products to get your rainy day or snow day fun ready to go!
This is the tent” rel=”noopener noreferrer”> we have and love. My boys squealed when I set it up! They read and play in it nonstop!
Here is an ADORABLE smores and campfire set ! Sometimes Target carries little sets in the summer and fall dollar section. Truth be told, the Target ones are not meant for much wear and tear. So if you are looking for more durability, I linked a set.
Magnetic fishing set! It would be super cute scattered on a plastic blue table cloth! They provide a small blue bag to lay it on 🙂 Here is my son playing with this at a play place last winter. My twins are getting a set for their birthday in a couple of weeks!
Giant Bugs! These are so fun!
Binoculars! Ours were cute, but not really functional. I linked ones that are much better and have awesome reviews!
I make a very small commission on items you buy through my links. I am able to try out more products so you don’t buy any duds! 🙂
